40 percent increase in population

1500000=100 percent

1 percent=15000

Population increase=2100000-1500000

=600000

600000=x percent

600000/15000

=40 percent

Therefor answer is 40 percent increase in population

The percentage increase in population is 40%.

  • The population of the town in the year 2006 is 1500000.
  • The population of the town in the year 2007 was 2100000.
  • Increase in population is 2100000 - 1500000 = 600000
  • Now percentage increase in population is

Percentage increase = \frac{Increase \ in \ population}{Initial \ population} × 100

Percentage increase = \frac{600000}{1500000} × 100

Percentage increase = 40%

  • Percentage increase in population is 40%.
