Increase in the population in a decade = 2,62,500 - 1,75,000 = 87,500

Percentage increased in a decade = (87,500/1,75,000) x 100 = 50%

Average increase in population per year = 50%/10 = 5%

Hola !!

Increase in the population in  10 yrs [ decade ]  = 262500 - 175000
                                                                             = 87500

Percentage increased   = (87500/175000) x 100
                                     = 50%

Average percent increase of population per year = [ 50/10 ] %
                                                                              = 5%
