Answer:

The present population was 11130

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that two years ago the population of the town was 10000

During first year it increased at the rate of 5% per annum

So, Population after 1st year =

During second year it increased at the rate of 6% per annum

So, Population after 2nd year =

So, Present population = 11130

Given: Rate of growth is 8%%. and population of town is 10,000

Find: The total population after two years  and also find the net increase in population.

Now, The rate of growth is 8% annum.

So, the growth is 108%.

Now,

Population after two years

=10000\times\frac{108}{100} \times\frac{108}{100} \\=11664

Net increase in population =\frac{final - initial}{inital} \times 100\\=\frac{11664-10000}{10000} \times100\\=16.64%

So, the net increase in population is16.64%
