p¤=120000

R=9.5%-6.5%=3%

T=1.5 yrs

then

P=p¤(1+R/100)^T

=120000(1+3/100)^1.5

=125440.3

Given ,

Present Population = 1,20,000

Birth Rate , B = 9.5 % p.a.

Death Rate , D = 6.5 % p.a.

Hence , Net Growth Rate = B-D = ( 9.5-6.5 ) = 3 % p.a.

So , Population after 1½ years = 1,20,000 + 3 % of 1,20,000

= 1,20,000 + 3,600 = 1,23,600

Hence , The population of the town after 1½ years is 1,23,600 ........
