To Find :

The population of men

Solution :

Initial population of the town = 13800

And

The percentage increase in population = 15%

So, New population = Initial population + 15% of Initial population

                                 = 13800 + $\dfrac{15}{100}$ × 13800

                                 = 13800 + 15 × 138

                                 = 13800 + 2070

                                 = 15870

Again

The ratio of men to women = 2 : 1

So, Men's population = $\dfrac{2}{2+1}$  × new population

                                   = $\dfrac{2}{3}$ × 15870

                                   = 10580

Hence, The population men in town is 10580 . Answer
