The population of a town was 160000 three years ago . If it had increased by 3%, 2.5%and 5% in the last three years , find the present population of the town

Initial Population = 160000

Increase in 1st year = 3% of 160000 =  \frac{3}{100}  \times 160000 = 4800

= 160000 + 4800 = 164800

Increase in 2nd year = 2.5% of 164800 =  \frac{2.5}{100}  \times 164800 = 4120

= 164800 + 4120 = 168920

Increase in 3rd year = 5% of 160000 =  \frac{5}{100}  \times 168920 = 8446

= 168920 + 8446 = 177366

Present Population of Village = 177366
