The population of a town was 320000 two years ago. If it has increased by 3% and 5% in last
two years, find the present population.

Population of town 2 years ago = 320000

3% increase in first year = 320000 X 3/100 = 9600

Total population after first year = 320000 + 9600

= 329600

5 % increase in second year = 329600 X 5/100

= 16480

Therefore, population after second year

= 329600 + 16480

= 346080
