The population of a town was 60,000 in 2016 . What was the population in 2013, if it increased by 6% per annum?

Population increased = 60000 *6 * (2016-2013)

= 10800

Population in 2013 (P) + Population increased = Population in 2016

P = 60000 - 10800
P = 49200
