The population of a village increases at 4% during the first year and at 5% during the second year. At the end of second year, the population is 1,04,832. What was the population at the beginning?

A) 96000

B) 97000

C) 98000

D) 99000

\sf\huge\underline\red{Solution:-}

Let the initial population be x

After first year, the population has increased by 4% ie, the current population is 104x/100

After 2nd year, the population has increased by 5% ie, the current population will be (105/100)(104x/100)

Now according to the question,

➡(105/100)(104x/100) = 1,04,832

➡(10920/10000)x = 1,04,832

➡x = 1,04,832(10000/10920)

➡ = 96,000

So the population of the village at the start of the first year was 96,000
