Step-by-step explanation:

Total population=7500

females (f )=42% of 7500

males (m)=?

total literate peron in village=2370

As per question,

given that 90 more males are illiterate than females

percent of literate males out of total no. of males in village=?

f=42% of 7500

=42/100×7500

=42×75

=3150

So, females=3150

Now males=7500-3150

m=4350

Let literate male and female are X and Y respectively.

X+Y=2370

difference of illiterate male and female =90

So,(4350-X)-(3150-Y)=90

=4350-X-3150+Y=90

=1200-X+Y=90

=1200-90-X+Y

=1110=X-Y

So on solving X-Y =1110

X=1740

required % =1740/4350×100

=40% Ans.
