Step-by-step explanation:

Suppose the number of males in the village before increases was x.

Then, the number of females =(9800−x)

Given, (x+8% of x)+(9800−x)+5% of (9800−x)=10458

⇒1.08x+1.05×(9800−x)=10458

⇒1.08x+1.05×9800−1.05x=10458

⇒0.03x=10458−10290=168

⇒x=

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of males = x

so females= 8400-x

After the increase...

Males = x + x(9/100) = 109x/100

Females = 105/100(8400-x)

=8820-(105x/100)

According to question

= 109x/100 + 8820-(105x/100) = 8936

= 4x/100 =8936-8820

= x = 2900

so Males =2900

Females = 8400-2900

= 5500

Difference between males and females

= 5500-2900

= 2600 Answer.
