Let the population = 100
After increasing 15% = 100+15 = 115 .

Now ,
If the increased population is 115 then the original population = 100
If the increased population is 1 then the original population = 100/115
If the increased population is 19320 then the original population =
 \frac{100}{115}  \times 19320 \\  \frac{20}{23}  \times 19320 \\ 20 \times 840  = 16800
The original population was 16800.

Solutions :-

Given :

the population of a village when increased by 15% become 19320.

Let the original population of village be x

A/q

=> x = 19320 - 15% of x
=> x = 19320 - 0.15 × x
=> x = 19320 - 0.15x
=> x + 0.15x = 19320
=> 1.15x = 19320
=> x = 19320/1.15 = 16800

Hence,
The original population of the village is 16800.
