The tertiary consumers will be the minimum in number.
So, the correct choice is option (a)
Explanation:
When we observe an ecological pyramid, we can find that the producers, that is, the autotrophs occupy the bottom level. They are the most abundant. By the process of photosynthesis, they are able to synthesise their own food. The second level is then occupied by the herbivores also called secondary consumers which feeds on the autotrophs. Tertiary consumers also called carnivores are present in the last level which feeds on the herbivores.
In between each level, there occurs loss of energy and hence the population in each level also diminishes. The tertiary consumers recieves the lowest energy of all and hence the population is also minimum among the other levels.
