Given :

Initial area = A₁ = 200 cm²

Area to be found = A₂ = 300 cm²

Initial pressure = P₁ = 0.25 N/cm²

To find:

Final pressure = P₂ = ?

Solution:

Formula of pressure is a follows -

P = \frac{F}{A}

In this case, force is kept constant.

From the above formula, we can note that pressure is inversely proportional to the area on which the force is applied. Thus, on increasing the area on which force is applied, the pressure will definitely reduce.

Therefore,

\frac{P_{2}}{P_{1}} = \frac{A_{1}}{A_{2}}

P_{2} = \frac{200}{300} \times 0.25

P₂ = 0.16 N/cm²

Answer:

The reduced pressure on his head will be 0.16 N/cm²
