3. She always makes the author wake up in the early morning and make him ready for school. She also goes to drop him in school. The school was nearly joined to the temple. While children learned letters, she sat inside the temple and see-through religious books.
4. After school, the grandmother and the author came back together. She gave bread to the dogs. After some time they departed for the city.
5. The author was then in an English medium school. The grandmother could not able to help him out with his lessons.
6. The writer told her that he learned music today. The grandmother did not appreciate it. For her, music was meant for those girls who are prostitutes.
7. She was very upset because there was nobody to make them teach religious books. There were no dogs in the street. She took to feed the sparrows.
8. The author then departed for England for future studies. She did not feel unhappy then. She went with the author to the station to see off. At the time of departure, she made love to the author by kissing him.
9. When he was back after five long years, she came to the station to pick him up. She did not even seem even a day older. Even then also she was chanting her prayers.
10. In the evening time, she did not pray. She presented a drum. She called all the neighbor women. She celebrated the return of her grandson by singing songs.
11. The very next morning she fell sick. She lay calmly in her bed praying. She passed away peacefully. Her death affected humans also and nonhumans also, yes, even the sparrows, even the dogs. They didn't chirp, they didn't bark. They avoided the foods given to them.
