Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

The position of an object moving along x-axis is given by x(t)=4.5+3t^2 where t is measured in seconds.

To find:-

What is the average velocity between t=2 seconds and t=4 seconds? Answer upto o decimal.

Solution:-

The position of an object moving along x-axis = x(t)=4.5+3t^2

Where t is measured in seconds

The position of the object at t = 2 seconds

=>x(2)=4.5+3(2)^2

=>x(2)=4.5+3(4)

=>x(2)=4.5+12

=>x(2)=16.5

The position of the object at t= 4 seconds

=>x(4)=4.5+3(4)^2

=>x(4)=4.5+3(16)

=>x(4)=4.5+48

=>x(4)=52.5

The displacement of the object from 2 seconds to 4 seconds

=>Final position - Initial position

=>x(4)-x(2)

=>52.5-16.5

=>36 units

Now the object travel from 2 s to 4s = 4-2 = 2seconds

Time travelled by the object = 2 seconds

The average velocity between t=2 seconds and t=4 seconds

=>Average Velocity = Displacement/ change in time

=>36/2

=>18 units/seconds

If x is measured in meters then

Average velocity = 18 m/s

Answer:-

The average velocity between t=2 seconds and t=4 sec of the given object = 18 m/s

(if x ix measured in meters )

Used formulae:-

Average Velocity = Displacement/ change in time
