The position of an object moving in one dimension is given by the formula x(t) = (4t^2 + 9)m. Calculate it's average velocity in the time interval of t=0 to t=4 seconds...

answer : 16 m/s

explanation : using formula,

average velocity = (v + u)/2,

where v is final velocity and u is initial velocity.

given, the position of an object moving in one dimension is given by the formula, x(t) = (4t² + 9) m

velocity is the rate of change of displacement is known as velocity.

i.e., v = dx/dt

so, velocity of object, v = d(4t² + 9)/dt = 8t

at t = 0, we get initial velocity , u = 8 × 0 = 8

at t = 4s, we get final velocity, v = 8 × 4 = 32 m/s

hence, average velocity = (32 + 0)/2 = 16m/s
