The position of the particle at a time t is given by,
S(t)=V0a(1−e−at)
As it denotes position, [S]=m, i.e. distance in meters. If you look at the exponential, exp(at), notice that the argument at must be dimensionless, hence [a]=s−1 or inverse time. Now,
[V0][a]=[V0]s=m
hence V0 has dimensions of velocity, i.e. [V0]=ms−1. (
