In the story "The Letter to God" the postman had proved himself to be "an epitome of compassion and generosity." He proved himself to be of the kind and humane nature. When he read the letter sent to God by Lencho, he decided to not let the trust of Lencho shake. He asked the other members of the post office to give some contribution so that they can help Lencho in such a hard time. Also, he didn't let his name mentioned anywhere in the letter.

Answer:

It is absolutely true the postmaster proves to be an epitome of compassion and generosity. The postmaster was the factor responsible for all the financial help Lencho received. He was kind-hearted, amiable, and philanthropic by nature. The moment he saw Lencho’s letter he was amazed and awed at Lencho’s faith. He knew such a faith was rare to be found in the world. So, he decided to preserve Lencho’s faith by sending him 100 pesos. Though he could not collect 100 pesos, he sent him approximately 70 pesos. People like the postmaster are the beauty of this world. Only people like him keep the goodness of life alive.
