Given,

the current through an X-ray tube is I = 3.2 mA = 3.2 × 10⁻³ A

◘ I = total charges / time

⇒I = ne/t

For t = 1 s,

n = I / e = 3.2 × 10⁻³ A / 1.6 × 10⁻¹⁹ C

Thus, n = 2 × 10¹⁶ electrons will strike the target per sec.
