The potential difference applied to an X-ray
tube is 5 kV and the current through it
is 3.2 mA. Then the number of electrons
striking the target per second is
(A) 5 x 106
(B) 2 x 1016
(C) 1 x 1017

ANSWER
solution We know that,
I=△t△θ
Here, △θ= (no of electrons striking in
time interval △t) (electronic charge)
I=3.2mA,△t=Is and electronic
charge = 1.0×10−19c ,so,
3.2×10−3=(1.6×10−19)−1△n(1)
1.6×10193.2×10−3=△n
△n=2×1016
where △n→ No. of electrons striking
per sec.
