Answer:

potential energy = mgh

Explanation:

9800 = m ×10×5

=> m = 9800÷50

=> m = 196kg

 \bold{Answer\;:-}

• Mass of the bag, m = ?

• Height to which the bag is raised, h = 5 m

• Potential energy at the point, PE = 9800 J

PE = mgh

• 9800 = m*10*5

• 9800 = m*50

• m = 9800/50

m = 196 kg

Extra : Derivation of potential energy :-

• Height to which the body is raised = h

• Mass of the body = m

• Force applied to raise the body = F = m*g - (i)

Work done = Force*Displacement and potential energy = work done

Therefore, PE = F * h - (ii)

Now, put the value of force in the eq. (ii)

• PE = m*g*h

PE = mgh

Hence Proved!
