Given:-

  • Power of lens , P = -2D

To Find:-

  • Which type of lens used

Solution:-

Firstly we calculate the focal length of lens

As we know that Power of lens is defined as the focal length of its lens

• P = 1/f

Substitute the value we get

→ -2 = 1/f

→ -2 ×f = 1

→ f = -1/2

→ f = -0.5

here negative sign show that the focal length of the given lens is -0.5 m

Therefore , the lens is concave lens .
