Given - Power of motor = 40 kiloWatt.

Mass of body = 2000 kilogram

Value of g = 10 m/s².

Find - Speed at which motor can raise given mass.

Solution - Power is given by the formula = Work/time. Further, work can be described as = Force*distance.

Keeping the formula of work in the formula of power, we get -

P = Force*distance/time

Since distance/time = speed, hence, new formula will be -

P = Force*speed

Keeping the values in formula -

40*1000 = 2000*10*speed

speed = 40000/20000

speed = 2 m/s.

Hence, speed of motor will be 2 m/s.
