Correct Question,

The power of a pump motor is 2KW. How much water per minute can it raise to a height of 10 meter? ( g= 10 ms-²).

Explanation,

Given,

  • Power (P) of a motor pump is 2KW.
  • Time taken (t) = 60 sec
  • Height (h) = 10 m
  • Acceleration due to gravity (g) = 10 m/s²

To Find,

  • How much water can it raise to a height of 10 meter?

Solution,

Applying power formula,

P = W/t

→ P = mgh/t

[ Put the values ]

→ 2 × 1000 = m × 10 × 10 / 60

→ 2000 = 100 × m / 60

→ 2000 = 10 × m / 6

→ 12000 = m × 10

m = 1200 kg

Therefore,

1200 kg water can it raise to a height of 10 meter.

Given, power of pump = 2kW =2000W

Time (t)= 60sec

Height (h) = 10m

g = 10m/s2

As we know, power = work done per unit time: Work done = mgh = m ×10×10 =100m

Therefore, 2000W = 100m/60s

Therefore, m = 1200kg

So, the pump can raise 1200kg of water in one minute...

Thanks Madam for Thanks...
