Answer:

The power or ability of the body to prevent the entry of pathogens or foreign particles is known as Immunity.

Explanation:

Immune System is the defence mechanism of our body towards outside invaders. This includes any kind of pathogens like bacteria, fungi, viruses etc. A combined work of cells, organs and proteins makes this defence effective.

Every person has two types of the immune system in their body. The one which we inherit through birth is known as the Innate Immune System. The other one is the Acquired Immune System or Adaptive Immune System, which develops in the course of one's growth.

The Innate Immune System consists of mucous membranes, skin, eye cornea etc which prevents the foreign body from entering the body or kills it soon after it enters.

It's the Acquired Immune System which acts once the pathogens enter the body, which comprises white blood cells called B-cells and T-cells. This system reacts with each pathogen differently. The Immunological memory of the Acquired Immune System keeps the antibodies against a particular pathogen after its first encounter with it. This provides longer protection against that particular foreign body.
