It was obvious that the sound came from our table. We were always clowning around with one boy at our table. When the teacher came over and asked who had set off the firecracker, we all turned and pointed at this boy, even though he wasn’t the culprit. His face got real red and he looked astonished. The teacher said come with me. We all burst out laughing. The boy never told us what the teacher said or if he was punished. We all got a good laugh afterwards. He wasn’t even mad because he knew it was all in fun.
