1. Land is the resource which sustains life and livelihood . It provides a base for shelter .
2. With the rampant industrialisation and urbanisation, the land is degrading day by day.
3. Punjab and Haryana have the issues of land degradation due to over irrigation.
4. Maharashtra has this problem due to over grazing.
5. Odisha and Chattisgarh have this problem due to mining.
6. These have left scars which degrade the land which is limited in amount.

1) the coal is getting exhausted more and more for producing electricity
2) the oil mining in sea shore is done to extract petroleum but that also exhausts it
