test presence of SO2 has caused damage to taj Mahal because it causes acid rain which degrade the quality of white marble . it has become yellowish in colour due to SO2 . SO 2 is yellow in colour. being very close to industrial belts of kanpur and Agra it has been attacked by pollution too.

the main reason is acid rain . the environment surrounded around taj Mahal in air consist of sulpur which mixed with rain and formed acidic rain which cause the marbles of Taj Mahal in yellowish colour ..
the factory around it also cause some problems...but now they were closed.
