Answer:

The age of son is 25

The age of son is 25

Step-by-step explanation:

To find :

The father age

The son's age

Solution :

Let us take the son's age = x                               (i)

Then The father's age = x + 20 (given)             (ii)

before 20 years :

Father's age be => x + 20 - 20                    (From (i) and (ii))

son's age be => x - 20

Now,

=> 5(x-20) = x

=> 5x - 100 = x

=> 5x - x = 100

=> 4x = 100

=> x = 100/4

=> x = 25

The age of son is 25

Then,

The age of the father be = x + 20

                                         = (25)  + 20

                                         = 45

The age of the  father is 45
