5x-5 = 10 (x-5) = -5x = -45 hence x = 9. Hence at present son’s age is 9 and Father's age is 45.

Here ,

Let the sons age be " x "

Father's age be " y "

According to the Question:-

Fathers age = Sons age

$\tt\implies \: 5x + 5 = 3( x + 5 )$

$\tt\implies \: 5x + 5 = 3x + 15$

$\tt\implies \: 5x - 3x = 15 - 5$

$\tt\implies \: 2x = 10$

$\tt\implies \: x = \cancel\dfrac { 10 } { 2 }$

$\tt\implies \: x = 5$

Hence ,

Present age of son is 5 years.
