Let the present age of son is x
So the present age of the man will be 3x
6 years ago, Age of son = x-6
Age of man = 3x-6
Given, (3x-6) = 4 (x-6)
3x-6 = 4x-24
4x-3x = 24-6
x = 18

Now, after 6 years, Son's age = x+6
= 18+6
=24
Man's age = 3x+6
= 3*18 + 6
= 54 + 6
= 60
Ratio of man's age to his Son's age = 60/24
= 5/2
= 5:2

ANSWER
========

Let the son's present age be x

Father's age = 3x

A.T.Q.
--------

6 years ago,

The age of son = x - 6

The age of father = 3x - 6

THE EQUATION FORMED
---------------------------------------

=> 3x - 6 = 4 ( x - 6 )

=> 3x - 6 = 4x - 24

=> 4x - 3x = -6 + 24

=> x = 18

The present age of son is 18 years.

The present age of father = 3 × 18 = 54 years

Age of son after 6 years = 24 years

Age of father after 6 years = 60 years

Ratio of the age of father to his son's age =

60 : 24

=> 60/24

=> 5/2

=> 5 : 2 ANS
