Answer:let's son's age be x then

Father's age willbe 2x

After 8 years,

Father age = 2x +8 and

Son's age =x+8

In ratio...

(2x+8) /(x+8) =7/4

Cross multiplication..

4(2x+8) =7(x+8)

8x+32=7x+56

Rearranging...

8x-7x=56-32

x=24

Present ages

Son's age =24 years

Father's age=2x=2×24=48 years
