Given:

Age of man = 2*(Age of son)

After 8 years , ratio = 7:4

To find:

The Present age of man and son = ?

Solution:

Let the age of man be x and let the age of son be y

Equation 1:

         x=2y

Equation 2:

        (x+8)/(y+8) = 7/4

Step 1: Substitute equation 1 in 2

     (2y+8)/(y+8) = 7/4

     8y +32 = 7y+56

       y=24

Step 2: Substitute value of y in Equation 1

        x=2*(24)

       x= 48

Hence, the present age of the man is 48 years and the son is 24 years.

Let present age of son be x

Let present age of son be x⇒ Present age of father =2x

Let present age of son be x⇒ Present age of father =2xEight year hence, ratio of their ages would be

Let present age of son be x⇒ Present age of father =2xEight year hence, ratio of their ages would be x+8/2x+8

which is given 4/7

⇒4(2x+8)=7(x+8)⇒8x+32=7x+56

⇒4(2x+8)=7(x+8)⇒8x+32=7x+56⇒x=24 years.
