Answer:

\small\underline{\frak{\pmb{ \blue{ Given:}}}}

Present age of Anil = 14 years

Present age of Sunil = 10 years

\small\underline{\frak{\pmb{ \blue{ let:}}}}

After x years ,

The ratio of their ages will become 5 : 4

So ,

Anil's age = ( 14 + x ) years

Sunil's age = ( 10 + x ) years

\small\underline{\frak{\pmb{ \blue{ According \: to \: the \: question : }}}}

➢ ( 14 + x ) / ( 10 + x ) = 5 : 4

➢ 4 ( 14 + x ) = 5 ( 10 + x )

➢ 56 + 4x = 50 + 5x

➢ 56 - 50 = 5x - 4x

➢ 6 = x

➢ x = 6

Answer :-

Given :-

  • Present age of Anil = 14
  • Present age of Sunil = 10

To Find :-

  • After how many years will the ratio become 5 : 4.

Solution :-

Let the number of years after which the ratio of their age will become 5 : 4 be x.

Age after x years -

→ Anil's age = 14 + x

→ Sunil's age = 10 + x

According to the question :-

→ 14 + x : 10 + x = 5 : 4

→ 14 + x / 10 + x = 5 / 4

→ 4 ( 14 + x ) = 5 ( 10 + x )

→ 56 + 4x = 50 + 5x

→ 5x - 4x = 56 - 50

→ x = 6

Hence, after 6 years the ratio of Anil's age and Sunil's will be 5 : 4.
