let the present age of daughter be x
let the present age of father be 4x

after 10 years
father age = 4x+10
daughter age= x+10
A.T.Q
4x+10= 3(x+10)
4x+10=3x+30
4x-3x=30-20
x= 10

so the present age of daughter=x
x= 10
the present age of father = 4x
= 4×10
= 40

Let the present age of the daughter be x
then father's present age = 4x
now after 10 yrs
4x + 10 = 3 (x+10)
4x + 10 = 3x + 30
4x -3x = 30-20
x = 10
so daughter's present age = 10 yrs
and father's present age = 4× 10 = 40 yrs

And ur information is wrong . after 10 yrs he will be 50 and the daughter 20 then it will not be 3 times. The question must be having 'after 5 years' or 15 yrs also.

awesomeangelsfly: Ok! My question said
