Present age of son = x, father = 5x.
(5x - 5) = (x - 5) . 10
5x - 5 = 10x - 50
-5 + 50 = 10x - 5x
5x = 45
Remember the present age of father is 5x. He is 45 years old.

let the present age of son be = x

and the age of father = 5x -3

their ages after 5 years :--

son = x +5

father = (5x -3)+5

now,

==>(x +5)3 = [ (5x -3)+5 ]+3

==>3x + 15 = 5x -3+5+3

==>3x +15 = 5x +2+3

==>3x +15= 5x +5

==>3x -5x = -15 +5

==>-2x = -10 [ minus sign cancelled out]

==> x = 10/2

==> x = 5

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SO,
THE AGE OF SON = 5 (X)
AND AGE OF FATHER = 22
= 5× 5 -3 (5X -3)
= 25-3
= 22
