Let,

Present age of Raj = x years

After five years,

Raj's age will be = ( x + 5 ) years

Ram's age will be = ( 3x + 5 ) years


A.T.Q.,

2 ( x + 5 ) = ( 3x + 5 ) + 2

=> 2x + 10 = 3x + 5 + 2

=> 2x + 10 = 3x + 7

=> 2x - 3x = 7 - 10

=> - x = - 3

=> x = 3

= 3 years



Present age of Ram = 3x years

= ( 3 × 3 ) years

= 9 years
