Let the present age of Ram be x and that of Shyam be y.

 \frac{x}{y}  \frac{5}{7}
⇒x =  \frac{5y}{7}

After ten years, their ages will be x + 10 and y + 10 resp.
 \frac{x+10}{y+10}  \frac{7}{9}
⇒9x+90 = 7y+70
but x = 5y/7
⇒9(5y/7)+90 = 7y + 70
⇒(45y/7)+90 = 7y + 70
⇒45y+630 = 7(7y+70)
⇒45y+630 = 49y + 490
⇒4y-140 = 0
⇒4y = 140
y = 35

⇒x = 5(35)/7
x = 25

Therefore, the present ages of Ram and Shyam are 25 and 35 resp.

Answer:

X=5

Ram= 25

Shyam=35

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the unit be x

Ram=5x

Shyam=7x

10 years later

Ram=5x+10

Shyam=7x+10

new ratio = 7:9

so,

ATQ

5x+10 =7

7x+10. 9

cross multiply

45x+90 = 49x+70

45x-49x=70-90

-4x= -20

-x=-5

so,

Ram=5x=5×5=25

Shyam=7x=7×5=35

I Hope it helped ^-^
