The current ages of Rama and his mother.

Solution,

Let present age of Rama = x.

Then present age of Rama's mother would be = 3x.

Therefore,

Rama age after 10 years = x + 10.

Rama's mother age after 10 years = 3x + 10.

Now, it is given that, after 10 years the age of the mother will be twice the age of Rama.

⇒   3x + 10 = 2(x + 10)

Now, solving for x,

⇒   3x + 10 = 2x + 20

⇒   3x - 2x = 20 - 10

⇒   x = 10.

Hence,

The present age of Rama = x ⇒  10 years.

The present age of Rama's mother = 3x  ⇒ 3(10) = 30 years.
