the present age of ravi's father is four times the present age of ravi after 10 years the age of ravi's father will be three times more than the age of rave. find their present age?

Let the present age of Ravi be x.

Then his father's age is 4x.

After 10 years ( in future )

Ravi age will be x + 4 years.

Fathers age is 4x + 10 years.

But questions says after 10 years,

Ravi's father age = 3( Ravi's age )

4x + 10 = 3( x + 10 )

4x - 3x = 30 - 10

x ( Ravi's age ) = 20 years.

Then his father age = 20 × 4 = 80 years.

Hence, Ravi age 20 years and his father's age is 80 years.

Let Ravi's present age be x

Therefore Ravi's father's present age will be 4x

Ravi's age after 10 years= x+10

Ravi's father's age after 10 years= 4x+10

After 10 years his father will be thrice as old as him.

Therefore,

4x + 10 = 3(x + 10)

4x + 10 =3x + 30

4x - 3x = 30 + 10

x = 20

As Ravi's present age is 20 years, his father's age is

4x = 4 × 10 => 40

Ravi's father's present age is 40 years
