The Present age of Rohit's mother is 3 times the present age of Rohit.

After 5 years their ages will add to 66 years.

Find their present ages.

Solution :-

~ Let the present age of Rohit be ' x '

Present ages :-

Rohit's age = ( x ) years

Rohit's mother age = ( 3x ) years

After 5 years :-

Rohit's age = ( x + 5 ) years

Rohit's mother age = ( 3x + 5 ) yyear

⟶ ( 3x + 5 ) + ( x + 5 ) = 66

⟶ 3x + 5 + x + 5 = 66

⟶ 4x + 10 = 66

⟶ 4x = 66 - 10

⟶ 4x = 56

⟶ x = 56/4

⟶ x = 14

Finding their present ages :-

Present age of Rohit = x = 14 years

Present age of Rohit's mother = 3x = 14 × 13 = 42 years
