 \large\mathfrak \pink{Solution:-}

 \underline \mathbb{GIVEN:-}

➙The present age of Sahil,s mother is three times the present age of Sahil.

➙After 5 years their ages will add to 66 years.

 \underline \mathbb{TO  \: FIND:-}

➙Their present ages.

  \underline \mathbb{ASSUMPTION:-}

➙Let, the present age of Sahil be x

➙And the present age of Sahil's Mother be 3x

➙After 5 years :-

➙Sahil's age will be x+5

➙Sahil's Mother age will be 3x+5

➙Their total age will be 66 years after 5 years.

 \underline \mathbb{BY  \: THE  \: PROBLEM:-}

x + 5 + 3x + 5 = 66 \\  \\  \implies \: 4x + 10 = 66\\  \\  \implies \: 4x = 66 - 10\\  \\  \implies \: 4x = 56\\  \\  \implies \: x =  \frac{56}{4} \\  \\  \implies \: x = 14

\underline \mathbb{ANSWER:-}

➙The present age of Sahil = x = 14 years.

➙The present age of Sahil's Mother = 3x = 14×3 = 42 years.

Let the present age of Sahil be x years.

Given that,

The present age of Sahil's mother is three times of Sahil

Sahil's mother = 3x years

  • According to the question,

After 5 years Sahil and his mother's age will be 66 when added.

So,

After 5 years,

  • Sahils age = (x + 5) years
  • Sahil's mother age = (3x + 5) years

Now,

⇒ (x+5) + (3x+5) = 66

⇒  x + 5 + 3x + 5 = 66

⇒ 4x + 10 = 66

⇒ 4x + 66 - 10

[By transporting 10  to RHS]

⇒ 4x = 56

⇒ x = 56 ÷ 4

[By transporting 4 to RHS]

⇒ x = 14

Therefore,

The present age of Sahil is = x years = 14 years

And the present age of Sahil's mother is = 3x years = (3 * 14) = 42 years
