Let present age of Sonu be x years

As per the first condition, Sonu's father's present age will be 3x

After four years the sum of their ages is 60

i.e (x+4) + (3x+4)=60

So, 4x +8=60

4x = 52

x = 13

So Sonu's present age is 13 years
