from 1st condition

x/y=2/5

5x=2y

5x-2y=0............(1)

from 2nd condition

(x+9)/(y+9)=4/9

4(y+9)=9(x+9)

4y+36=9x+81

0=9x-4y+81-36

9x-4y+45=0

9x-4y=-45.......(2)

multiply by 2 in equation (1)

10x-4y=0......(3)

subtract equation (2) from (3)

[(10x-4y =0) - (9x-4y=-45)]

therefore

x=45

so, the present age of sumit is 45 years

now ,

5x-2y =0

5(45)-2y=0

225=2y

therefore

y=112.5

so,present age of ram is 112.5 years.

sum of their ages is 157.5

60% of 157.5 is 94.5
