The present age of Taihan 's mother is three times the present age of Taihan after five years and their age will add to 66 years. Find their age?

Let age of Taihan be x years and his mother be y years.
3x = y
or, 3x - y = 0 ---------[i]
After 5 years,
(x+5) + (y+5) = 66
or, x + y +10 =66
or, x+y = 56 ---------[ii]
Adding the two equations, we get:
4x = 56 
or, x = 56/4 = 14 years
Therefore,
 Age of Taihan = x = 14 years 
 Age of Taihan's mother = 3x = 3*14 = 42 years

Let the present age of Taihan be x years

So, his Mother's present age be 3x years

After 5 years -

Taihan's age = (x + 5) years

Taihan's Mother's age = (3x + 5) years

According to Question,

(x + 5) + (3x + 5) = 66

⇒ 4x + 10 = 66

⇒ 4x = 66 - 10 = 56

⇒ x = 56 / 4

⇒ x = 14

Required Ages -

Taihan's age = x = 14 years

His Mother's age = 3x = 3(14) = 42 years

Hence, Taihan's present age is 14 years and his mother's present age is 42 years
