Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

The present age of the father is 10 years less than twice the sum of his three children. Three years hence, fathers age would be 10 years more than the sum of the ages of his three children.

To find :-

Find the present age of the father ?

Solution :-

Let the sum of the present ages of the three children of a man be X years

Then, The present age of the father

= 10 years less than the twice of the sum of his three children

= ( 2X-10 ) years

Father's age after three years

= 2X-10+3

= (2X-7 ) years

The sum of the ages of his children after three years = 3+3+3+X years

= x+9 years

Given that

Three years hence, fathers age would be 10 years more than the sum of the ages of his three children

=> 2X-7 = X+9 +10

=> 2X-7 = X+19

=> 2X-X = 19+7

=> X = 26 years

The sum of the present ages of his three children = 26 years

Their father's present age = (2X-10) years

=> 2(26)-10

=> 52-10

=> 42 years

Answer:-

The present age of their father for the given problem is 42 years
