Answers
Given :-
- The present age of the father is three times the age of his son
- The age of the son after 10 years is equal to the age of the father before 20 years.
To Find :-
- Find the present age of the father and the son ?
Solution :-
Let the present age of the son be x, thus father's present age will be 3x.
Ten years after, the age of the son is equal to the age of father before 20 years.
Now,
Ten years after the age of the son was x + 10 and father's age was 3x - 20
⇒ (3x - 20) = (x + 10)
⇒ 3x - x = 20 + 10
⇒ 2x = 30
⇒ x = 30 /2
⇒ x = 15
The age of the son is 15 years.
The father's age is 3x = 3 × 15 = 45 years
hence, The son age 15 years and father's age 45 years
_____________________
The present age of the father be 45 years.
and The present age of the son be 15 years.
Step-by-step explanation:
Let The present age of the father and son be x and y
A. Q. T.
the first condition.
The present age of the father is three times the age of his son.
i.e x = 3y............( i)
second condition
the age of the son after 10 years is equal to the age of the father before 20 years
i.e x-20 =y+10 ............(ii)
Now,
equation (i)put in equation (ii) we get,
so, 3y - 20 = y+10
or, 3y - y = 10+20
or, 2y = 30
so, y = 30/2 = 15 years
the value of y put in equation (i)
Now,
x=3×15
so , x = 45 years
thus,
The present age of the father be 45 years.
and The present age of the son be 15 years.
