Present age of the son=4 years
Present age of the father =33 years

Let the years after which the age of the father will be doubled the age of his son be x years

Father age after X years=33+x years
Son age after X years= 4+x years

Father's age is 2 times son's age after X year
So,
33+x= 2(4+x)
=33 + x= 8 + 2x
= (x - 2x) = 8-33
= -x = -25
= x= 25 years

To check,
4+25=29 years
33+25= 58 years
and 58 is double of 29
