Step-by-step explanation:

let the present age be 3x and 2x

5 year back their ages = 3x-5 and 2x-5 or 2x and x

therefore

3x-5/2x-5 = 2/1

3x-5 = 4x-20

15 = x

after five years

their ages are : 3x+5 = 50 and 2x+5 = 35
